General FAQ's

How do I share my Device Access with other people?

There are two ways to provide ‘Home’ access to your family members and relatives.

  • Go to settings>Homes>My Home>Users. When you tap on users, you get an option to add a user. Enter the email ID or phone number of the family member to provide them with access.
  • Ask your family members to ‘Join Home’ when they are creating an account. It allows them to send you a request to add them as a user by entering your email ID or phone number. As a request arrives at your phone or email, you can provide them with access once approved.
Is the App a paid service?

No, you can download our smart home app, free of cost, from Google Playstore or from Apple’s Appstore.

Can i enable or disable alerts/notifications in the app based on the category of alerts

Yes, you can enable/disable notifications in the app based on the categories of alerts.

You can do it by following steps:

  • Open the automation app.
  • Go to ‘Settings’ and click on ‘Account’ that is present at the top right corner.
  • When you click on account, you get an option to ‘View Profile’ and ‘Preferences’, select ‘Preferences’.
  • This section will help you filter out the notifications based on the following categories:
  1. Settings
  2. Rooms
  3. Remotes
  4. Homes
  5. Devices
  6. Schedules
  7. Reminders
  8. Alert 
  9. and Support
  • Other preferences, such as Sounds and Vibration, can also be chosen by the user.
  • Once you are done with personalizing your preferences, click on ‘Save Preferences’.
Do I require internet access to use your application?

We integrate our product with your existing Wi-Fi router. To run the mobile application inside your house, you will not require an internet connection. Therefore if you are connected to the same router and the internet is down or not connected, you can still control the smart devices. For controlling your house or smart devices from outside, you would need the internet on your mobile phone as well as inside your house.

What phone or platform do I need to for the Smart Home App to work?

Our app is compatible with both IOS and Android mobiles with Andriod version 4.0 or more

Are you saving my WIFI Details on server?

No, the WIFI Passwords are not saved on our server

 

What about Security if i use Wi-fi based Home Automation? Will there be a problem in Security?

As long as your Wi-Fi Network Login Credentials, User Login Credentials & Device Credentials are strong and are not compromised, the chances of the security vulnerability are close to nil with our devices. We follow a multi-level and multi-layer security approach between devices and our platform to provide the right security to our customer

Homes & Access Control

Is there a limit to the number of homes that a user can create?

No, there is no limit to the number of homes that can be linked to a user account. But at a time, a user can enter and operate devices in one home only.

 

Can I revoke access to someone in my home / remove someone from my home in SMART HOME App?

Only Prime User can revoke access to anyone in home.
(Prime User is the user who created the home in the SMART HOME application)
Go to Settings > Homes > (Select Home) > Users > (Select User to remove) > Delete User

 

 

Who is the Prime User in a home? What can he/she do?

Prime User of a home is the user who created the home in the SMART HOME Mobile application

Prime User can add/remove users from home and also can accept/reject join requests from other users

How do I share access to my SMART home account with other people?

Anyone can join your home once the join request is accepted by the Prime User.
(Prime User is the user who created the home in the SMART HOME Mobile application)
To give devices access to other people, there are two ways, they are
1. Ask the user (who wants to get access) to, go to Settings > Homes > Join Home > search with email/phone of home users > Request > Done (once prime user accepts request from notification)
2. Prime user can add any other users by doing, Settings > Homes > (Select Home) > Users > Add User > Provide email/phone of registered User > Done.

IR Blaster

Does my IR_BLASTER need StaticIP/ Dynamic IP?

Yes, IP is assigned automatically based on the network to which the product is connected. The user needn’t manually configure the IP

 

How many places/locations/networks can I configure IR_BLASTER simultaneously?

IR_BLASTER can save upto 4 Wifi networks. It connects to the strongest network available at the time.

How and when do I reset IR_BLASTER Device?

OntheIR_BLASTER, tap twice on the reset button with a sharp pin (It is located beside the sticker on the device), you can now reset the remote

How many users does the App Support?

The app can support any number of users.

What Standards does IR_BLASTER Support?

It connects to 2.4GHz, Wi-Fi802.11b/g/n,and uses 4 IR LEDs,functioning at 940nm and 20-60kHz.

What’s the average Response time between Request and action w.r.t theIR_BLASTER ?

The average response time is about 100ms, which is less than a blink of an eye.
PS: Given in good internet connectivity.

Will there be updates to IR_BLASTER in the future?

Yes. All updates will be performed automatically and over the air(OTA). No user intervention is required.

WhydoIneedIR_BLASTER when mobile apps can already control my devices?

Only mobile phones equipped with IR blasters can control electronic appliances with the help of apps alone. They do not have 360 degree support for remote control, where as with IR_BLASTER you can point anywhere in the room to operate your device. Also with our product, you don’t need to be physically present in the same room as your appliance, as your SMARTHOME App can function from any part of the world.

Can I Reuse IR_BLASTER in Multiple Rooms?

Yes you can.You can unplug the IR_BLASTER and plug in another room and it will still work fine.

What if I cannot find my remote in app,can we request for support?

Yes. Please raise a ticket in the app. Go to Settings > Support > Raise a complaint.

How do you configure IR_BLASTER for the first time?

If you have already added the device in the home.
Go to Settings > Devices > (Select Device) > Configure Device
Follow the steps given in the video in that screen to configure your device.

Can You identify any individual IR_BLASTER Device given to a customer? Does the Device have any identification number?

Yes, every IR_BLASTER has a device identification number. It is can be viewed on the product sticker easily.

Do I need Internet to use IR_BLASTER Device?

Yes, to avail all features on your IR_BLASTER device, it is recommended to have internet connectivity on your home network. But it is not mandatory for using basic features like turn on/off, changing temperatures, speaker volume setc., if the mobile phone and IR_BLASTER are connected to same Wi-Fi.

Can I share IR_BLASTER User access to a friend who is visiting me?

You can share and revoke access to other individuals to your home on the app

Can Multiple User Simultaneously Control a Single IR_BLASTER ?

Yes, all users connected to the same home on the app can control appliances with in the home using the app.

DoesIR_BLASTER needstobeinLineofSighttoWork?

No it doesn’t.IR_BLASTER can send signals from any direction in the room in which it is installed provided there is no physical obstruction blocking the device.

Does my Smart Phone need to have an IR Blaster to use IR_BLASTER

No. It does not.

Can I Use Multiple IR_BLASTER in a Single Large Room?

Yes.TheIR_BLASTER can control appliances within 20m of its radius.If your room has larger dimensions,you can add multiple IRBLASTER devices to control the devices in the room

How much distance does my IR_BLASTER needs to be from my Appliances,What’s the Coverage Distance?

The IR_BLASTER can support devices with in 20m of its radius in the same room.

What Brands of Appliances does IR_BLASTER Support?

IR_BLASTER can support over 6000+ brands of all IR based electronic devices.

How do you power on IR_BLASTER? BLASTER for the first time?

You can simply turn it on by plugging it in to a USBadapter.

What is IR_BLASTER and what does it do?

IR_BLASTER is a portable smart remote.It can function as a universal remote for various devices like TV, AC, Set-topbox, MediaStreamer, Projectoretc., Simply connect the IR_BLASTER to any USB adapter, enable your local Wi-Fi network and you’re ready control your appliances.

Will the smart home devices support/work on a Wi-Fi Mesh Network?

Yes, all smart devices work on MESH Wi-Fi networks. Also, ensure to select the WIFI that has highest signal strength for better performance of the device.

 

Networking

Can I change network without a device reset?

Dear User, sorry for the inconvenience. The network configurations change if you replace the router or use a new network. To use a device that has been connected to a different network, first remove that device from the app, reconnect it to the new network, and then add it again.

 

Can I use the device without the Internet?

Dear user, sorry for your inconvenience. If you cannot use the Internet, you need two smartphones that can provide a network hotspot. One phone turns on the hotspot as the network provider and the other can connect to the device. Otherwise, the device may not work properly. Thanks for your support and understanding.
